JOBSUMMARY

TheMaintenanceMechanic- Productionisresponsibleforthebasicmaintenanceand repairof equipmentand facilities. This positionwill supportmultiplefacilitieswithvarying processes,equipmentand functional requirements.

ESSENTIALFUNCTIONS

• Diagnosesand resolvesstandard waterorrecycled facilitymachinery,piping and equipmentproblems.
• Performspredictive,preventativeand correctivemaintenanceduties.
• Tracks and records information required in work order documents and enters into computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) and uses Microsoft Office.
• Performsstandard level diagnosticteststoresolveroutineproblems.
• Repairsplantmachineryandequipment,usinghoists,jacks,ladders,confinedspaceequipment,PPE, welding equipment,hand tools,squares,rules,micrometers,and other tools.
• Dismantles,constructsand assemblesvariouscomponentsof facilities,industrialmachineryor equipment.
• Performsconfined spaceentriesin hazardousenvironments.
• Monitorsmechanicalequipmentand makesfunctionaladjustments.
• Cleansand lubricatesmachineryand equipmentaccording tospecifications.
• Identifiespartswithspecificationsand ordersreplacements.
• Furnishesmechanical recommendation whenordering newparts,machineryand equipment.
• Hasknowledgeof basicelectrical and instrumentation principles.
• Promotesand practicesasafeworkingenvironmentin an industrial setting.
• Appliesbasicprinciplesofmechanicalmaintenance.
• Performsworkin accordancewith TCEQ,OSHA,and other applicablegovernmentregulations.
• ReadsO&Mmanuals,as-builtdrawings,blockmaps,schematics,andconstruction plans.
• Establishesandmaintainseffectiveworking relationship and publicrelations.
• Mayoperateaforklift,poweredverticalliftingmachinery,utilitytruck,crane,combinationunit,water tanker,orotherheavyequipment.
• Performsotherdutiesasassigned.

DECISIONMAKING

• Receives general supervision.
• May refer more complex issues to higher levels.

MINIMUMREQUIREMENTS

• Graduation from high school or a General Education Development (GED) Certificate.
• Two years’ experience performing repairs and maintenance in the mechanical trade.
• Ability to report to work on time, maintain a good attendance record, and work all designated work schedules.
• Valid Texas Class “C” Driver’s License.
• TCEQ Class "D" Water License within 6 months and Class "C" Groundwater Treatment Operator License within 12 months of hire.
• Subject to climbing up to 200 feet in height.

PREFERREDQUALIFICATIONS

• TCEQ Class “C” Groundwater Treatment Operator License.
• Valid Texas Class “A” Commercial Driver’s License with Tanker and Hazardous Material endorsement.

JOB DIMENSIONS

• Skill in applying basic math and measurement principles.
• Skill in utilizing a personal computer and associated software programs.
• Skill in proficient use of materials, tools, and equipment commonly used in mechanical maintenance or repair of industrial facilities.
• Ability to complete required SAWS coordinated training after hire on Confined space, HAZMAT Awareness, Lock Out Tag Out, Supervising for Safety, Fit Testing, Electrical Safety, and other certifications as required.
• Ability to enter and maintain information in the computerized maintenance management system.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers, contractors and vendors.
• Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.

PHYSICALDEMANDSANDWORKINGCONDITIONS

Physical requirements include lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally and pushing/pulling a maximum force of 105 pounds. Subject to standing, sitting, walking, climbing, bending, crawling, squatting, kneeling and working in cramped and strained positions for extended periods of time to perform job scope. Subject to climbing up to 200 feet in height.

Working conditions are primarily outside with frequent exposure to inclement weather; water production and recycled activities; mechanical, electrical, chemical and confined space hazards; offensive fumes; excessive noise; deep excavations; and animals, snakes and poisonous insects. Required to comply with requirements as specified in applicable regulations for personal protective equipment, including clearance for use of respiratory protection and other associated equipment. Performs confined space entries in hazardous environments. If part of the emergency action team, must be able to complete the requirements as specified in applicable regulations for Hazardous Materials Emergency Response, including clearance for use of respiratory protection and other associated protective equipment. Ability to participate in emergency action team during chemical release incidents and/or drills. Operates company vehicle on a daily basis.

May be required to work hours other than regular daytime schedules such as shift work, nights, weekends and holidays.
